More information about the katana blade:

     - For a high-end practical katana, we recommend a T10, 1095, Kobuse, or Honsanmai blade.
     - For an Iaitō, choose any blade in a blunt finish.
     - Colored blades are only available with the following blades: 1045 and 1060 carbon steel.

     - What is a clay-tempered blade?
     - Hamon – the hardening line of a Katana blade

    Engraving

Would you like a custom engraving on the blade?

    Engraving instructions

    - Any type of characters (e.g., Japanese characters) can be used.
    - The engraving will be placed above the Tsuba on one side of the blade at the discretion of the smith.
    - For special requests such as image engravings, please contact our support team.

    Ito Wrap

The grip wrap (Ito) reinforces the Tsuka and serves as decoration for the Katana.

How would you like the handle wrapped?

    Ito Material & Color

Select the material and color of the handle wrap here.

    Samegava

The wooden handle is traditionally covered with ray skin. The textured surface prevents the Ito wrap from slipping.

Choose between genuine and synthetic ray skin.

    Samegava Color

Should the ray skin be colored?

    Tsuba

The Tsuba (guard) is located between the handle (Tsuka) and the blade. The Tsuba protects the hands from sliding onto the blade during a thrust.

Choose between standard Tsubas and handmade premium Tsubas, with fine embellishments in real gold and silver.

    Seppa

Seppa are small spacers located above and below the Tsuba.

The Fuchi (sword collar) is the collar between the Tsuka (handle) and the Tsuba.

The Kashira (end cap) is a knob at the bottom end of the Tsuka (handle).

Choose between a standard set or a handmade premium set, featuring fine embellishments in real gold and silver.

The Menuki are decorative metal ornaments woven under the Ito (handle wrap).

Choose between standard Menuki and handmade premium Menuki featuring genuine gold and silver.

The Habaki (blade collar) sits between the blade and handle, securing the sword within the saya (scabbard).

Saya is the Japanese term for the sword scabbard.

    Sageo

The Sageo (Japanese for "sword scabbard cord") is a cord attached to the scabbard (Saya) that helps secure the katana to the belt (Obi).

Use the same material and color as the handle wrap (Ito) or choose the Sageo separately.
