My Katana finally arrived today, and I couldn’t be happier!
I chose 1095 steel, folded with a real Hamon. I spared no expense because I wanted it to be as traditionally forged as possible, making it my Katana. I’ve fulfilled a dream! The craftsmanship is excellent and you can see the attention to detail. I’ve seen worse swords for similar prices. It came with a box and a sword bag, both look great. No cutting tests yet – I’ll practice more with my training sword first.

I have been practicing Kendo for almost 40 years and hold the 7th Dan. For the past three years, I’ve been collecting swords that can be used for Tameshigiri.
My Custom Katana has fulfilled a dream of mine from my youth. It is a masterpiece. I chose the Asano family crest (the lord of the 47 Ronin) for the Koshirae because, during my first trip to Japan, the wife of my Sensei took me to the Sengakuji Temple, where the 47 Ronin, the Ako-Gishi, are buried.
Everything is exactly as I imagined! The rayskin Saya and leather-wrapped handle are stunning. The craftsmanship is excellent, and you can tell this was made with a true love for the art of the sword.
The blade is outstanding. With any new sword, I first perform the “thread test” (a technique I learned in Japan). You hang a sewing thread from the ceiling and cut diagonally (hidari- and migi-kesagiri). It’s quite tricky because the thread has almost no weight and hangs loosely in the air. But for the Katanzo sword, it was no challenge. Both cuts went through cleanly. Now, I’m looking forward to using it for traditional Tameshigiri!

Master Katanzo forged my sword Lìliàng Nàilì and fulfilled my greatest dream.
The blade features a real Hamon, and the sword is of outstanding quality.
For my first custom Katana, I chose a folded T10 steel blade with a real Hamon. The handle is wrapped in red rayskin, matching the red Sageo. The Ito wrapping is made of black silk with two silver wolf Menuki. Fuchi and Kashira have a floral pattern and fit the sword perfectly. The Tsuba is tight, and nothing is loose. The Saya is matte black and quite simple. The Habaki fits perfectly into the Koiguchi, ensuring the blade doesn’t slip out unintentionally, and there’s no rattling.
After unboxing, I immediately tested the sharpness of the blade with paper, and I wasn’t disappointed. It also cuts through bamboo sticks effortlessly and remains razor-sharp. The only minor issue I’ve noticed is that the Ito wrapping shifts slightly, but this is just a cosmetic problem.
Since I chose a blade without a Bohi, it is a bit heavier than what I’m used to, but it is still perfectly balanced and feels good in the hand. The extra weight also makes the sword more stable, allowing me to cut through thicker branches without bending or damaging the blade. The steel is beautifully polished, and the Hamon and Damascus pattern are clearly visible.
All in all, I’m very happy with the sword and will definitely order from you again.
I chose the folded 1095 steel blade with a real Hamon. The online configurator made assembling the Katana very easy, with plenty of images and information for each part/step.
I am very satisfied—the Hamon style and everything else match exactly what I selected and the sample images. The colors are also spot-on (though I mostly chose black and white, to be fair). Everything feels solid and well-made, giving the impression of a “real” Katana.
The blade is sharp and easily slices through folded printer paper.
The sword’s fabric cover feels high-quality, and the box is decent, though not a masterpiece of craftsmanship—but that wasn’t promised.
Overall, I am very happy with the Katana. Thank you, Katanzo.

My custom Katana has far exceeded my expectations. The grain of the Damascus steel is beautifully visible, and the Hamon is a real eye-catcher. Communication with support regarding my personal engraving was smooth and hassle-free. Overall, I am extremely satisfied.

I chose the 1095 custom Katana and am very satisfied with it. I found a small imperfection at the tip of the blade, but I can live with that. Otherwise, it’s excellently crafted, and everything went smoothly from the configuration to the order and delivery.

The most important part, the blade, is fabulously crafted. The Damascus pattern and Hamon are beautifully visible. The engraving is precise and perfectly placed.
The Bo-Hi is nicely done, and the entire blade is finely polished.
The Habaki fits perfectly in the Saya, and all the subsequent parts—Seppa, Tsuba, Fuchi & Kashira, Tsuka—are precisely aligned.
The Menuki are beautifully integrated into the Ito. The weight balance is also very pleasant, making the sword easy to handle and well-balanced.
In short, it’s an excellently made Katana, and I’m very satisfied with it.

Wow, very solid craftsmanship.
I purchased two Katanas: one with a T10 Damascus blade and the other with a 1095 Damascus blade. Everything is perfect. However, the Saya was delivered with a small crack. But thanks to the excellent customer service, a replacement Saya was promptly provided.
All in all, fantastic.

I had this Katana made for Aiki-Jitsu, Jiu-Jitsu, and Iaido training. I chose the T10 steel, folded, with a real Hamon. The blade is blunt and engraved. I already used the sword during my 4th Dan Jiu-Jitsu exam and I am very satisfied. It feels great in hand and is easy to handle.

First of all, I ordered my Katana on 3rd November 2023, and it arrived on 3rd January 2024.
I chose a 1095 blade and was really excited about the final product. I have to say, I’m very satisfied with the result. The blade, Saya, Tsuba, Habaki, Fuchi, and Kashira are wonderfully crafted and look amazing.
My wish for a beautiful, handcrafted Katana has finally come true, and at €799, the price-to-performance ratio is fantastic!
I’ll definitely order again soon, adding a Bokken and Wakizashi to my collection!

The pictures speak for themselves, but the excellent quality must be highlighted. I chose a 1095 carbon steel (folded) blade. The sword was meant to be simple yet elegant. I opted for the “nail pattern” Hamon and, of course, real rayskin.
